Row Quilt

Recently I participated in a Row Quilt swap in my favorite Yahoo group, Quilting In Indiana. When I received it back, I realized that I didn't like the row concept of the quilt at all. I loved all the blocks that were made but just didn't like them in the rows. So, I ripped all the rows apart and mixed up the blocks. Added some sashing and got a beautiful quilt! The blocks are absolutely gorgeous and have been made by some wonderful friends of mine from the group.

Hello All

I know!!! It sure has been a while. They have been working me like a dog at work and have left me little time to play. The only good thing about all the OT is the money to spend on fabric. The bad part about that is there is no time to shop for fabric. So I guess you could say my OT is saving me money. That is really probably a good thing. I had decided I was going to try and not purchase fabric this year. Yes, that is one of my New Year's resolutions! If you could see my sewing room, you would definitely understand why.
I have come to realize that the more I make quilts the more my tastes in fabric change. For instance, I used to be a Thimbleberries addict. Now I go for more Michael Miller and Hoffman fabrics and pass the Thimbleberries up consistently. Instead of greens, burgundies and golds it is now purple, lime green and teals that I like.
I guess if we didn't grow as quilters we would be pretty boring!!!
