Jill and her 1st Paper Pieced Block

This is my daughter Jill on her first day of school this year. She is a junior at Madison Consolidated High School.

She has been doing a little bit of sewing with me but not much. Since school has started she hasn't done any! Too much homework! She loves school and will not miss a day unless she is absolutely, terribly sick.

This is her first quilting block and also her
first paper pieced block. I think she did an
excellent job on it. She even chose her own fabrics for it.

Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the drawing for a fat quarter. The drawing was suppose to be tomorrow but since I will be out of town, I will post the winner on Friday.

Thanks for reading my blog!

Your daughter's block is so pretty! Isn't it fun to have a quilting buddy? My 9 yo dd is gathering fabrics for her 3rd quilt, a big one this time (the first 2 were doll-size scrap quilts). Too fun!

I am so excited for Jill! And the colors are great. She sure has came a long way since that first sewing day at Deputy! lol Maybe she and Jessica will do a quilt together when Jessica comes home...that would be great.

Jill did a beautiful job on the quilt block and I love the colors she picked out. Gosh, its hard to believe that she is a junior this year!!

Jill has been taught well. Her block is bright and very beautiful. Just love those colors together. My 8 yr DD loves to use brights in her works too.
